Window and Sliding Patio Door Replacement
Cion Corp was retained by the Board of Directors at BCC #21 to perform engineering services related to the investigation / design, preparation of project specifications and drawings, and contract administration for this project. Scope of work included replacement of existing aluminum framed units equipped with a combination of multi-lite (operable) windows and insulated (fixed) windows.
The new higher quality windows selected resulted in the reduction of energy loss through conduction, air leakage and radiation. This was aided by selecting windows and patio doors with sealed units featuring argon gas, weatherstripping using fin-seal technology, installation of spray foam insulation around the perimeter of rough openings as well as using a low-e coating on the surface of the glass.
Cion arranged for the installation of a site mock-up using the approved windows and patio doors selected for the project to confirm their performance ratings comply with the CAN/CSA A440- M90 (windows) and CGSB 821.1-M89 standards. This testing and any modifications resulting from it were used as a standard for the rest of the project.
As part of our services we co-ordinated a rebate through GreenSaver Multifamily Energy Efficiency Rebates in the amount of $99,600 on behalf of the client.
